Good Morning! “In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.” 2 Peter 1:5-7 NLT
Each promise in his word is an anchor to our faith. Faith with all those attributes increases our understanding and our ability to trust God in every area of our lives.
Which promise will you read or recite today?
Here’s one from Isaiah 41:13 NLT “For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.”
Lord help us to add to (supplement) our faith by reminding us what is morally excellent. Help us to understand the difference from what is morally right to the world versus what it is to you. As you give us that knowledge also help us to be self-controlled (strong enough – strengthen us) to turn away from what doesn’t please you. Yet help us endure times of trials, pain, struggles and things we simply do not understand with patience – knowing you can and will come through for us. Lord your word says you will never leave us or forsake us; and Lord today we ask for you to be with us and our families. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Keep seeking His promises. Keep trusting. Keep praying!
