Good Morning! “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11 NLT

The key statements that stood out to me:

1) “as though God himself were speaking through you”

2) “with all the strength and energy that God supplies”

God has given us all amazing gifts and each one can be used to glorify the Lord. Don’t be selfish with your gifts, be selfless by allowing God to use you.

Imagine buying someone or your kid a car. You give them exactly what they need and a little extra, and you are making the monthly payments for the next 72 months. However, in the 60 month there is a crisis and you really need to use their car. The crisis has become a matter of life and death, and you need to go help someone. So you ask to use the car – the one you have been paying for, and that someone or child says “No”. Can you imagine your anger or the words that would come out of your mouth? The threats to take back the car or how dare you statements.

Well consider the gifts given to you by God. How dare we not use them to glorify him. He sent his son to die on the cross for our sins – paying the ultimate cost for our salvation and yet we won’t use the gifts he has given us to advance the kingdom or share the gospel to help bring others to Christ. Thank God for his grace and mercy, and that he is not like us – with how dare you statements.

As you ponder on the spiritual gifts the Lord has given you – he has at least given you one, use the gift(s) “with all the strength and energy that God supplies, and as though God himself were speaking through you.” Seek discernment for things you are gifted to do. Don’t be weary in doing, but ask God to show you how to use gifts in meaningful and practical ways.

Lord, help us to bring you glory. In Christ Jesus name, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
