Good Morning! “In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives.” 1 Peter 3:1-2 NLT
This is another scripture I struggled with during the first five years of marriage. Being raised and influenced by strong women, it was hard to take the partnership role instead of the lead role. But God, yet again, began to speak to me through his word, put other godly Christians in my life and even til today people who pray for my husband and I.
I often speak to young wives about my own mistakes and lessons I’ve learned, I encourage them and often remind myself – stating my marriage is my first ministry. While I know for many women this verse is difficult and I certainly won’t assume I know everything, but I know an all knowing God who does.
Does your husband see Christ in you? Does he hear it in your tone of speech and see Christ in your actions?
Continue to honor the Lord by the way you treat your husband. Pray for God’s guidance in your marriage and the decision you make. Keep praying for husband, your marriage and God’s presence to overflow in it.
Keep praying! Keep trusting! Keep seeking!
