In the Hands of a Just God

Happy Wednesday! “For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.” 1 Peter 2:21-23 NLT

The theme continues throughout scripture that God is in control. Times may be difficult but we serve a mighty God who can calm a storm and send an army of angels to fight on our behalf. He is the one that we can cast all are cares, the one who can heal, the one the rocks will praise if we fail to praise him, he is all powerful, all knowing and yet loves us…sinful and undeserving us.

The Lord has given us an example through Christ Jesus to continue to do the right thing when everyone else is going left. Although it is hard to hold our tongue and control our tempers – with the Lord’s help we can. As you go throughout your day, pray for those who have wronged you or are sitting in high places who have wrong motives and those who don’t know Christ as their Lord and savior. Use your God given abilities to live out his purpose and mission for your life in spite of insults or unjust treatment. Stand firm on his word and trust that he will take care of you because he is the perfect judge.

Father God, today – give us a heart that is soft enough to feel you and those who are hurting. Help us to live a life that brings you glory and shares your praise. Lord in the midst of these storms and times of uncertainty pour your Holy Spirit on us and remind us of your presence throughout the day. When facing battles help us not to be vengeful or lose our peace, help us to trust your timing and your plan to open doors, close doors and correct situations for your children. Lord cover us with your protection as we go throughout our day. Let others see you in us – our actions, speech and responses. – In Jesus Name, Amen.

Keep seeking! Keep reading the word! Keep trusting! Keep praying! – Watch God work.
