Good Morning! A perfect verse to end our week and summarize our reading this week. “Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king.” 1Peter 2:17 NLT

R-e-s-p-e-c-t (respect) is something we often demand from others and as Christians (followers of Christ) we should emulate the love and forgiveness Christ has shown us. We should display character that is worthy of respect and remain humble as we show respect to our neighbors, co-workers, family members and strangers.

In reverence/honor of the Lord we are to show respect and godly love also to fellow believers in the faith. What does that look like? As believers we should not be gossipy, bitter, jealous or spiteful against one another, but faithful in prayer – encouraging one another in the Lord, building one another up and united in the word.

Above all live for God – honor and pray for those who God places in authority. Pray for more “true” Christians (God centered) in high positions. Continue to stand in the gap for believers and show Christ like love (forgiveness and compassion) to everyone (the least, lost and last).

Father God, thank you for another week. Thank you for another opportunity to read your word and apply messages written long ago to our lives today. Your word is living and breathing and I ask that you continue to place it into our hearts so that it will flow through our veins, pour out of our mouths,  and be seen in our actions.

Lord be with us today and this weekend as we live out your word. Help us in or areas of need, concern and health. Strength our faith and cover us with your protection. In Jesus name, Amen!

Have a wonderful weekend. Keep praying! Keep seeking! Keep trusting!

We want to hear from you. Leave a reply
